Lead Systems Engineer – Ohio Class Modernization
SEACORP is seeking a well qualified Lead Systems Engineer to lead the Ohio Class Modernization efforts. The candidate will oversee and coordinate the development, integration, testing, evaluation, and certification of the Ohio Class platforms.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities- Work with and lead a project team during the development of USW Non‑Propulsion Electronics System (NPES) systems/subsystems, coordinating program events, engineering changes, integration and verification testing, test reporting, and fleet support.
- Lead and engage in planning activities to ensure compatibility among asynchronous system upgrades, both technically and schedule‑wise, and to align OHIO Ship and Strategic Weapon System upgrades per the Strategic Systems Program Coordination Process.
- Analyze test procedures and prepare associated lab configurations to support USW NPES test events.
- Collaborate and coordinate with OHIO Life Cycle Support Facility (LCSF) stakeholders.
- Participate in and lead systems engineering meetings.
- Review and analyze system requirement specifications and technical design review packages, providing subject‑matter‑expert comments and updates.
- Engage in systems engineering efforts to provide inputs for cost, schedule, and technical aspects.
- Identify project risks with the team and develop mitigation plans.
- Advance knowledge of and experience with Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems (SWFTS) and other Non‑Propulsion Electronics Subsystems, covering operation, function, design, and architecture.
- Understand systems engineering practices and procedures related to sustainment, modification, logistics, production management principles, concepts, policies, systems, and acquisition regulations.
- Analyze complex problems and develop options and recommendations.
- Understand containerization processes.
- Be a self‑starter with a strong work ethic, eager to learn and face modernization challenges head‑on.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and comfortably interface with and brief senior leadership personnel.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline.
Experience: 7 years of experience.
Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizenship.

Work Environment & Physical DemandsOffice and computer laboratories – sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard, and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting up to 40 lb. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
