Responsibilities
- Expertise carrier class telecommunication engineering practices and standards in system designs and operation.
- Familiarity with cloud-based communications systems with enterprise grade voice, IM/messaging, meetings, conferencing and collaboration.
- Support voice engineering initiatives for all project-related and ongoing operations support for voice communications services.
- Support infrastructure that is relied upon on a 24x7 basis.
- Actively monitor and conduct trend analysis for telecommunication networks to proactively identify performance issues ensuring highest availability of critical network.
- Conduct engineering studies; prepare technical reports; compile data evaluating and justifying requests for equipment and services. Produce and maintain relevant documentation and drawings for all telecommunication systems and projects.
- Evaluate telecommunications systems and requirements and recommend modifications and/or new equipment; analyze technical problems and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
- Conduct technical field surveys to develop detailed system design criteria; prepare equipment specifications and evaluate equipment to determine compliance with DISA specifications.
- HS and 6-8 years experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing on technical subjects to technical and non-technical people (all levels).
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Proficient with installation and management of Avaya Aura Communication Manager 8 or higher.
- Design experience with Avaya Unified Communication products.
- Installation, configuration, upgrade, and troubleshooting of Avaya G450 Gateways.
- One (1) of the following Avaya Certifications is required:
- Avaya Certified Solutions Architect (ACSA) or...
- Avaya Certified Solution Specialist (ACSS) or...
- Avaya Certified Implementation Specialist (ACIS)
- CompTIA Security+ Certification.
- Experience with Cybersecurity configurations and security implementation tools.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products such as Visio for documentation and drawings.
- Position requires the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance with the US government.
- Ability to obtain a US passport, active passport preferred.
- Travel Requirements:
Some travel may be required within United States and Internationally. (Roughly 5%).
- Experience with VoIP phone systems preferred, including installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining network-based telephone equipment and supporting daily telecommunications operations.
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Military or government experience preferred but not necessary.
This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
