Job Title
Principal Liaison for Undersea Warfare/Warfare Sensors
Job DescriptionDuties:
- Serve as the principal liaison between NUWCDIVNPT Intelligence Analysts and the Undersea Sensors Division, C4
ISR Department, ONI. - Provide/facilitate subject matter expertise in the area of undersea warfare/warfare sensors, combat systems, electronic warfare/warfare sensors, weapons, unmanned vehicles, and/or communications technology, and system performance assessment.
- Work with ONI to perform analysis of intelligence data related to threat submarine, surface ship, air, and/or fixed undersea warfare sensors.
- Independently prepare a variety of project charts, spreadsheets, plans, reports, and presentations to articulate the results of analyses and technical assessments.

This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role 641, proficiency level Intermediate. The incumbent is required to obtain/maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification/Department of Navy policies. - This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the
Functional Area
and Tier assigned to the position, along with Continuous Learning (CL) points, are required within established time frames. - Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You hold (or have you held) a position equivalent to or higher than an ND-04 (GS-12 and GS-13 equivalency) on a permanent basis in the competitive service.
- You are willing and able to accept a temporary reassignment not to exceed 12 months.
Qualifications:
This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled by a Mechanical Engineer (0830-series), a Computer Engineer (0854-series), an Electronics Engineer (0855-series), or a Computer Scientist (1550-series) depending upon the qualifications of the candidate. Applicants in positions with occupational series other than those listed (0830, 0854, 0855 and 1550) may apply; however, you must apply directly to the series listed in this vacancy that is most applicable to your qualifications.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-4 pay band (GS-12/13) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer or scientist. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: conducting engineering research, scientific analysis, modeling, and simulation to evaluate undersea warfare and military system performance, collaborating across multidisciplinary technical teams and authoring scientific reports, white papers, and briefings to articulate key analytical findings.
