Civil Engineering Intern
Shape the shoreline, shape your future—join us for a hands-on engineering internship experience! We are seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to support our coastal infrastructure team in Newport, RI or Marion, MA for Summer 2027. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and gain experience in waterfront engineering, including structural inspections, hydrographic surveying, dredging, construction management, and more! This is your chance to apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings to protect coastlines and support navigation nationwide.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work directly with team members on various project deliverables in the dredging, environmental permitting, civil and coastal engineering fields
- Conduct topographic & hydrographic surveys and 3D drone scans with certified team members
- Assist with structural inspections and construction oversight activities
- Support design work utilizing AutoCAD
- Prepare local, state, and federal permit documents
- Assist with data management and report preparation
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or similar engineering field from an ABET-accredited program
- GPA of 3.0 or greater
- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
$21 - $26 an hour The base compensation range for this position is included in this job posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as relevant experience, geographic location, scope and level of responsibility, and applicable licenses or certifications. In addition to base compensation, eligible members may participate in Foth's Earned Performance Incentive program and may receive other discretionary bonuses, including On‑the‑Spot recognition awards.
Exempt members may also be eligible for quarterly and/or annual incentive opportunities, where applicable.
