Job SummaryProvides laundry services to lodging operations with the NEXCOM Hospitality Group NHG.
Responsibilities- Sorts washes, dries, folds, bundles, wraps and issues linen in accordance with established instructions.
- Operates commercial washers, dryers and ironing press paying special attention to detail.
- Loads, unloads, attaches and detaches laundry chemicals as needed by hand or using carts, dollies, hand trucks, golf carts or similar lifting devices.
- Reads and follows written directions from manufacturer and/or supervisor on equipment and chemical use.
- Cleans filters, equipment and notifies supervisor of any malfunctions.
- Inventories laundry to detect missing and/or damaged items.
- Maintains inventory records and damages, issues requests for replacement items to sustain par standards.
- May pick up and deliver laundry to multiple facilities.
- Sweeps, mops, dusts and empties trash to maintain cleanliness of the laundry facility and linen storage areas.
- Maintains documentation of work performed daily and monthly.
- May possess a valid state driver’s license to travel to other lodging facilities as required.
- Performs duties of housekeeping attendants and/or public spaces attendants on an as‑needed basis to cover staff shortages or other unanticipated occurrences.
- Ensures security and privacy of guests at all times.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- High school graduate or equivalent (preferred). No experience required.
The position requires considerable standing, bending, walking, pushing, pulling and climbing. Must be able to perform moderately strenuous physical labor, including unassisted lifting, moving and carrying supplies and equipment weighing up to 45 pounds.
Work EnvironmentWork is primarily performed indoors in areas with adequate heat, light and ventilation. Conditions may be very hot due to dryers and presses, and some facilities may require exposure to the outdoors. The incumbent may be exposed to dirt, disagreeable odors and skin eye irritants from strong cleaning solutions.
Personal Protective EquipmentPPE is provided and must be worn.
Special RequirementsThis position may be designated as ALPHA personnel for inclement weather or in the interest of national security and may be required to report for work when other employees are excused.
