Position Overview

Detroit Defense is seeking a Configuration Management Analyst to support Navy software and hardware configuration management and submarine modernization programs. This role requires deep familiarity with NAVWAR configuration management processes, submarine alteration packages, and modernization fielding across multiple submarine classes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Navy software and hardware configuration management processes in accordance with NAVWAR standards
  • Support submarine alteration package processes across Ohio, Los Angeles, Virginia, and Seawolf class submarine platforms
  • Develop and maintain submarine modernization fielding plans to support program schedules and milestones
  • Track and manage NMP-MOM/MODSOP timelines and milestones to ensure on‑time delivery of modernization efforts
  • Maintain configuration data, records, and documentation within CMPro and JIRA
  • Coordinate with program stakeholders to ensure configuration baseline integrity throughout the system lifecycle
  • Support NAVWAR software and hardware configuration management processes and reporting requirements
  • Identify and communicate configuration discrepancies, risks, and impacts to program leadership
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience with Navy software and hardware configuration management processes
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience with submarine alteration package processes on submarine platforms
  • Active Security Clearance required
  • Experience with NAVWAR software and hardware configuration management processes
  • Proficiency with CMPro and JIRA
  • Experience developing and maintaining submarine modernization fielding plans
  • Familiarity with NMP-MOM/MODSOP timelines and milestones
  • Experience with submarine alteration package processes on Ohio, Los Angeles, Virginia, and Seawolf class submarines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting submarine modernization programs within a DoD contractor environment
  • Familiarity with SUBSAFE or other submarine‑specific quality and configuration standards
  • Experience with DoD configuration management documentation and reporting requirements
