Position Summary

Newport Craft is seeking a Brewer / Cellar Person to join the team at the Newport, Rhode Island facility. This position is responsible for daily wort production and cellar operations. The role involves collaboration on recipe development, process improvements, and increasing overall brewery efficiency while maintaining the highest quality standards for all products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute all brewing-related tasks, including operating a 30-bbl manual brewhouse, DE filter, and keg cleaner
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all production processes
  • Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of grain storage, brewhouse, and cellar areas
  • Develop, maintain, and follow cellaring processes to ensure high-quality products
  • Accurately record production and batch data using brand sheets and EKOS
  • Collaborate with the Brew Team on recipe development and process improvements
  • Assist with packaging and canning line operations as needed
  • Operate a forklift to move pallets, equipment, and finished product
  • Participate in training and support customer-facing activities (tours, client visits, events)
  • Promote teamwork, cooperation, and respect throughout the organization
  • Follow and uphold company values, safety culture, and procedures
  • Perform general brewhouse duties and maintain a clean, safe workspace
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience at a production brewery
  • Formal brewing education, training, certifications, or accreditations preferred
  • Working knowledge of brewing processes, malt milling, brewhouse, and cellar equipment
  • Team player with a positive disposition, strong work ethic, and sense of humor
  • Strong time management, interpersonal communication skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and interact effectively with others
  • Comfortable speaking with customers to share industry knowledge and educate on products
  • Ability to be flexible and shift priorities in a fast-paced work environment
  • Interest in working with a team that values learning and continuous improvement
  • Comfortable driving a box truck and operating a forklift (certification provided if needed)
  • Basic knowledge of industrial safety and compliance standards preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Full-time hourly position
  • Flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends as needed
  • Base Pay $19.00 - $22.00 / Hour
