Vanderbilt Rehab Unit Part Time Day Nursing Assistant

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Registered Nurse to organize work and set priorities.
• Perform personal care skills.
• Perform basic nursing assistant skills as outlined by the Rhode Island Department of Health Professional Licensing and Facility Regulation.
• Assist with rehabilitation care, including positioning, mobilizing, exercising patients, and supporting group programs.
• Transport patients and records to and from treatment areas, ensuring safe handling.
• Maintain a safe environment by reporting unsafe conditions, equipment needing repair, and removing hazards from service.
• Recognize and report signs and symptoms to the Registered Nurse.
• Maintain quality assurance and infection control in accordance with hospital policies, procedures and objectives.
• Accurately document data in the EHR, patient care flowsheet, and clinical records; demonstrate ability to perform responsibilities in emergency or code situations.
• May function as a patient observer and perform other related duties.

Works in acute care hospitals, physicians’ offices, and ancillary health care enterprises. Requires prolonged sitting, standing, and walking, repeated bending, squatting, and stooping. May be required to lift/turn patients and equipment.

$18.00 - $25.82 per hour.
