SALES Associate - Consumables Flex

Job Summary

As a sales associate you will be the face of our company, highlighting our brand and image while helping customers recognize the need for our products and services. You will learn about what we sell, articulate our purpose in an educational, insightful and professional manner, and bring a positive, outgoing nature that enjoys serving others to make a positive impact on the organization.

• Customer Service:
  Proactively engage with customers, ask questions, listen to their needs, and direct them to merchandise while informing them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and the STAR card.
• Provide premier customer service, cooperate and build positive, inclusive and respectful relationships, and take accountability for your own actions and outcomes.
• Organization:
  Maintain store appearance.
• Sales:
  Cross‑sell products, know the store layout, suggest latest trends and current promotions based on individual customer needs, upsell products, learn product features, and use a point‑of‑sale system to process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, debit cards, and handle cash accurately. Complete various forms of paperwork, reports and reconciliation.
• Inventory:
  Be the keeper of merchandise, complete all inventory processes, ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed, and participate in periodic inventories.
• Dependability:
  Adhere to the assigned work schedule, complete assignments accurately and completely, and perform other duties as assigned.

• Product Knowledge:
  Basic knowledge of products and merchandise.
• Retail experience preferred but not required.
• Communication
  
  Skills:
  
  Strong interpersonal and communication skills; read, write and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; communicate effectively with customers, peers and management; telephone etiquette.
• Mathematical
  
  Skills:
  
  Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Reasoning Ability:
  Multi‑task while remaining attentive to customers, flexible to business needs, work as part of a team, take initiative independently of direct supervision.
• Physical Demands & Work Environment:
  Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for at least two consecutive hours; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching and climbing ladders; vision abilities including close vision, color vision, depth perception and focus adjustment; lift 25–50 lbs. Work typically performed indoors but may be outdoors depending on location.

High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
