SALES Associate Store

Job Summary

As a sales associate you will be the face of our company. You will highlight our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation as a company that values its customers and their opinions. You will be directly responsible for assisting customers and helping them recognize the need for our products and services. Must be capable of learning about what we sell and articulate our purpose in an educational, insightful, and professional manner.

• Customer service: proactively engage and connect with customers.
• Ask questions and listen to customer needs.
• Direct customers to merchandise, inform them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and STAR card benefits.
• Provide premier customer service and build positive inclusive, respectful relationships.
• Maintain store appearance.
• Cross‑sell products and know store layout.
• Make suggestions on latest trends and promotions based on individual needs.
• Upsell products.
• Learn product features and keep up with latest trends, leveraging company tools and technology.
• Use a point‑of‑sales system to process cash, exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit and debit cards, handle cash including counting money and returning accurate amounts.
• Complete various forms of paperwork, reports and reconciliation.
• Serve as the keeper of merchandise, complete inventory processes and ensure proper ticketing.
• Participate in periodic inventories.
• Adhere to work schedule and complete assignments accurately.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Basic product knowledge.
• Retail experience preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers, peers, and management, including telephone etiquette.
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Reasoning ability: multitask while being attentive and flexible to business needs.
• Team player, initiative, independent of direct supervision.
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for at least two consecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching and climbing ladders. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision and depth perception. Involves lifting at least 25 lbs., up to 50 lbs. in some departments. Work typically performed indoors but may be assigned outdoors.
