Job SummaryAs a Supervisory Sales Associate you will be the face of our company to both the associates and our customers. You will highlight our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation as a company that values its customers and their opinions. You will be responsible for assisting customers and helping them recognize the need for our products and services, and you will be a team leader, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.

- Customer Service – Proactively engage and make a connection with customers.
- Ask questions and listen to customers' needs.
- Direct customers to merchandise, informing them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and STAR card.
- Provide premier customer service and build respectful relationships, taking accountability for actions and outcomes.
- Organization – Maintain store appearance.
- Sales – Cross‑sell products and know the store layout; suggest latest trends and current promotions based on individual needs.
- Upsell products.
- Learn product features, keep up with trends, leverage company tools and technology to confidently provide product knowledge.
- Use a point‑of‑sale system to process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit/debit cards, count money, and return accurate amounts.
- Complete paperwork, reports, and reconciliation.
- Inventory – Keep merchandise, complete inventory processes, ensure proper check‑in and ticketing, and participate in periodic inventories.
- Secure cash, fixed assets and merchandise inventory.
- Provide direction on assignments, prioritise projects, manage merchandise and inventory.
- Dependability – Adhere to assigned work schedule; complete work assignments accurately and fully.
- Supervisory Requirements – Provide effective leadership, direct, train and motivate associates; set a positive example; provide coaching, feedback, and guidance; oversee training and performance input to Department Manager; possibly open/close locations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Product Knowledge – Moderate level of knowledge of products and merchandise.
- Training Documentation – Provide training documentation to sales associates on product features.
- Experience – 1–2 years retail or relevant experience; 1 year lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- Communication Skills – Strong interpersonal and communication skills; read/write/interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals; communicate with customers, peers, management; proper telephone etiquette.
- Mathematical Skills – Basic math functions, use a calculator, calculate percentages and ratios, make change in U.S. monetary units.
- Reasoning – Ability to multi‑task while being attentive to customers and flexible to the business needs.
- Teamwork – Work as part of a team, take initiative independently.
- Conflict Resolution – Defuse escalated exchanges and create win‑win situations.
This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, standing for at least two consecutive hours; may involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders; vision: close, color, depth perception; lifting at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs in some departments; work typically indoors but may be outdoors.

Work HoursAvailable to work a variety of hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Experience1 year responsible experience in clerical office or retail sales store work or equivalent. 1 year progressively responsible experience in retail sales performing the duties that constitute the principal work of this role. Substitution allowed: 1/2 academic year of study can substitute 6 months of experience; specialized experience may substitute required general experience.
