Summary: As Retail Counter with Pacific Seafood, you will provide prompt, excellent customer service to patrons of our retail stores. Responsibilities include seafood counter sales, stocking, and other duties as assigned. Responsible for product knowledge, quality control, and building relationships with store customers.

• Stock and merchandise all seafood products in the display case.
• Rotate product as needed.
• Provide knowledge of products along with cooking and serving suggestions to patrons.
• Demonstrate detailed knowledge of food safety at all times.
• Assist customers with inquiries and complaints.
• Operate scales and cash register.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
• Assist kitchen and wait staff when necessary.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

Required

• Minimum 1 year of prior experience in food counter sales, merchandising of food products, or other related experience.
• A food handler’s card or the ability to obtain one
• Strong customer service skills
• Effective communication skills

Preferred

• Prior seafood experience

Physical Requirements:

• Sedentary work, walking and standing are required only occasionally.
• Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
• Fingering. Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
• Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
• Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
• Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
• Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds.

Working Conditions:

• Utilizes PC and other standard office equipment.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
• If lengthy time working in the server room is required, personnel will be provided with noise cancelling headphones.
