This part-time, on-site Sales Associate role is based at our Island Outfitters location in Newport, RI. The Sales Associate will greet and assist customers, provide product information, recommend items, and ensure a welcoming in-store experience. Daily responsibilities include maintaining merchandise displays, restocking shelves, processing sales transactions, and handling returns or exchanges in accordance with store policies. The role also involves keeping the sales floor clean and organized, monitoring inventory levels, and supporting seasonal promotions or events.

Sales Associates collaborate with team members to meet store goals and deliver consistent customer service during assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.

• Customer service and communication skills, including the ability to engage with diverse shoppers and build positive relationships.
• Basic sales and retail skills, such as handling point-of-sale systems, processing transactions, and supporting promotional activities.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail for merchandising, inventory monitoring, and maintaining store appearance.
• Reliability and teamwork, with the ability to follow store procedures, collaborate with colleagues, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Comfort working on-site in a fast-paced retail environment, including standing for extended periods and handling light physical tasks.
• Prior retail or customer-facing experience is helpful but not required; training will be provided.
• Availability to work part-time shifts, including weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods as scheduled.
