The Fiber Splicer plays a critical role in the telecommunications industry by ensuring the integrity and performance of fiber optic networks. This position involves the precise joining of fiber optic cables, essential for maintaining high-speed data transmission and connectivity. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing fiber optic lines, minimizing downtime, and working with various splicing techniques and equipment.
Responsibilities- Perform splicing and termination of fiber optic cables in underground, aerial, and building environments.
- Conduct testing and troubleshooting of fiber optic networks.
- Maintain accurate records of splicing activities, diagrams, and reports.
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry standards.
Skills and Abilities
- Required skills include technical aptitude with fiber optic cables and equipment
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Strong communication abilities.
