Field Service Technician - HW - Fort Myers

Job Overview

The Field Service Technician (FST) primarily performs preventive maintenance on Varian Medical Systems linear accelerators and imaging systems to ensure efficient operation. The FST is responsible for scheduled tasks outside normal business hours, schedules maintenance, escalates incidents, and maintains administrative records.

• Proactively perform periodic and preventive maintenance activities on linear accelerators and associated medical equipment.
• Manage time and maintain daily/weekly schedules for preventive maintenance across the service region.
• Escalate incidents when necessary and request assistance from senior representatives or leadership.
• Document and submit field service work orders, expense reports, and consignment parts per VMS procedures.
• Communicate follow‑up actions to the primary assigned representative.
• Maintain vendor credentialing status and comply with company and customer access requirements.

• High school diploma or equivalent; preferred vocational training or military experience with electronics.
• Excellent time‑management and professional communication skills.
• Strong customer‑relationship skills, both written and verbal.
• Basic knowledge of electronic, electro‑mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and plumbing systems.
• Experience with handheld test equipment such as digital multimeters (DVM/DMM) and digital oscilloscopes.
• Basic technical experience with micro‑computers, PCs, and hand tools.
• Familiarity with business tools including e‑mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of escalation procedures to field service representatives, service delivery, and support teams.
• Completion of all required VMS training classes for hardware preventive maintenance.
• Proficiency in Vendor Credentialing requirements (valid photo , driver’s license, SSN, background checks, drug screening, immunizations, TB testing, and other training).
