Exceptional HGV Technician Opportunity in Newport with Industry-Leading Dealer Group

Our client, a reputable franchised commercial vehicle dealership in Newport, is seeking a fully qualified and experienced HGV Technician to join their Service Department on a "4 on 4 off" shift pattern. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional looking to develop their career with a leading industry brand.

• Competitive hourly rate of up to £20 per hour, depending on experience, plus bonuses and overtime opportunities
• Overtime paid at time and a half, subject to availability
• Annual commitment bonus of £600
• Profit‑sharing bonus of £750 annually
• 23 days annual leave plus Christmas and New Year’s Day off (with added day in lieu if bank holidays fall on your day off)

• Carry out all service and maintenance work to the highest standards within the manufacturer's time frames
• Perform diagnostics and repairs to rectify malfunctions, ensuring quality and efficiency
• Contribute to customer retention by delivering professional service standards
• Assist colleagues with technical issues, sharing innovations and best practices
• Document diagnosis, repairs, servicing, and safety inspections accurately
• Support adherence to company policies and safety procedures
• Support the workshop team in maintaining a high level of productivity and quality

• Live in Newport or within reasonable commuting distance
• Fully qualified HGV Technician / Mechanic, minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
• Practical experience post‑qualification is highly desirable
• Strong commitment to quality work and customer satisfaction
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop environment
• A team player with excellent communication skills
• Motivated to achieve targets and contribute to team success
• An active HGV driving licence would be advantageous but is not essential
