Material Handler

Description

Leidos Defense group is seeking a Material Handler. The successful candidate will support logistics operations of the Navy Array Technical Support Center (NATSC), Newport RI, by performing physical tasks related to the handling of incoming and outgoing material.

• Vehicle loading and unloading. Material receipt and issue.
• Inventory maintenance.
• Receipt, issue, and location recordkeeping (hardcopy and electronic). Daily audits and cycle counts.
• Material movement (using hand and powered lift trucks).
• Packaging and preparation of materials for shipment.

• High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 1-2 years' prior experience in a logistical/planning activity.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance;
  Interim Secret required to start.
• Previous experience supporting warehousing activities.
• Previous experience reading/interpreting warehouse storage plans.
• Experience with the operation of standard office equipment (phones, computer, fax, and copiers).
• Ability to lift 30 lbs unassisted.
• Recent experience at NATSC Newport as a Warehouse Specialist or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record.

This position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum wage requirements as well as the minimum Health and Welfare benefit. Leidos will ensure that all provisions are met through their wages and benefits. The pay for this position will be $19.33/hr.
