We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate RN‑Night Shift Supervisor to lead our nursing team during overnight hours. This leadership role requires extensive clinical expertise across various specialties, including critical care, medical‑surgical, geriatrics, and behavioral health. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, a thorough understanding of EMR/EHR systems, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care in a fast‑paced environment.

This position offers an opportunity to oversee patient assessments, coordinate care plans, and ensure compliance with healthcare standards such as HIPAA and NCQA.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate nursing staff during the night shift, ensuring high‑quality patient care across departments such as ICU, medical‑surgical units, geriatrics, pediatrics, and behavioral health.
  • Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physical examinations to inform clinical decision‑making.
  • Manage medical documentation accurately using EMR/EHR systems like Cerner, Epic, Athenahealth, and eClinical

    Works.
  • Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, catheterizations, and perform venipuncture following aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
  • Lead emergency responses including airway management, ventilator support, spinal taps, and acute pain management procedures.
  • Ensure infection control practices are maintained in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Conduct discharge planning and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care including nutrition, DME needs, and family education.
  • Supervise documentation of CPT codes, ICD‑9/ICD‑10 coding for accurate billing and utilization review.
  • Provide leadership in managing complex cases involving trauma (Level I & II Trauma Centers), neonatal ventilators, dialysis patients, dementia care (Alzheimer’s & Memory Care), and patients with disabilities or developmental delays.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient records.
  • Facilitate staff training on new protocols or equipment such as Hoyer lifts or sterile processing techniques.
  • Collaborate with physicians during diagnostic evaluations like cardiac catheterization or sonography procedures.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities aligned with NCQA standards and hospital policies.
Qualifications
  • Valid RN license with current state registration.
  • Extensive experience in critical care settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers; ICU experience preferred.
  • Proven supervisory or nurse management experience with demonstrated leadership skills in a healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Cerner, Epic, Athenahealth, or eClinical

    Works.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, pharmacology related to medication administration and pain management.
  • Experience with complex patient populations including geriatrics (Memory & Alzheimer’s care), pediatrics (PICU & neonatal ventilator), behavioral health, and patients with disabilities.
  • Ability to perform advanced clinical procedures such as IV insertion/infusion, suturing, gastrostomy feeding management, and sterile techniques.
  • Excellent assessment skills including vital signs measurement and diagnostic evaluation capabilities.
  • Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD‑9/ICD‑10), CPT coding for billing purposes; familiarity with DRG systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively triage patient needs and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to maintaining compliance with healthcare laws including HIPAA and NCQA standards. This role is ideal for experienced nurses seeking a leadership position that combines clinical expertise with team supervision during overnight hours in a dynamic healthcare setting.
