Randstad has an opening for a Quality Manager for a company in the Newport, TN area. This is a $80‑90k direct hire position, salaried, with working hours 8 AM–4 PM. The role requires at least two years of quality manager experience.

1. Manufacturing & Process Oversight
  • Maintain deep "hands‑on" exposure to core manufacturing processes (Machining, Stamping, Welding, Plating, Heat Treat, etc.).
  • Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Monitor and analyze process capability and variation to ensure stable production.
  • Work directly on the floor with operators and supervisors to identify and fix root causes.
2. Quality Systems & Compliance
  • Act as the primary lead for IATF 16949 compliance and external customer audits.
  • Manage the internal audit program, ensuring all nonconformances and corrective actions are tracked to closure.
  • Lead the APQP and PPAP processes for new product launches.
  • Provide data‑driven inputs for Management Review meetings.
3. Problem Solving & Risk Management
  • Drive advanced problem‑solving initiatives using 8D, 5‑Why, and Fishbone methodologies.
  • Execute RCCA (Root Cause & Corrective Action) to prevent recurrence of quality escapes.
  • Utilize Core Tools (FMEA, MSA, SPC) to analyze and mitigate risk throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Lead containment, recalls, and customer escalations with a calm, decisive approach when issues arise.
4. Cross‑Functional Leadership
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Ops, Sales, and Purchasing to maintain a "Quality First" culture.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and auditors, providing technical clarity under pressure.
  • Diplomatically push back on production or external stakeholders when quality standards are at risk.
