As a Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician at our local retail store, you will support and oversee repair within the Walmart facilities Refrigeration HVAC equipment team, using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and hand, digital, and power tools to complete jobs.

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility’s Refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive repair work orders, support stores and store associates, and document repair activities.
• Provide a prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by performing work according to Walmart’s Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.

• 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
• 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational or technical HVAC/R certification and 2 years of mechanical maintenance or construction‑related experience, OR 4 years of mechanical experience in commercial HVAC/R and building controls.

• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
• Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 – $45.00, and the actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid, ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
