Job Overview
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Med Surg/Telemetry RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Newport, Vermont. The assignment starts on 07/27/2026 and requires 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts.
Responsibilities- Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments per nursing standards.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and document changes.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and assist physicians during treatments.
- Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients recovering from medical conditions or surgery.
- Document patient information, vital signs, medications, treatments, and outcomes in the medical record.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.
- Prioritize care for multiple patients based on acuity and clinical needs.
- Enforce infection control practices and hand hygiene.
- Advocate for patient needs and preferences.
- Coordinate discharge planning and follow‑up resources.
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- One year of recent Med Surg/Telemetry RN experience.
- Valid RN license in Vermont.
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification.
- NIHSS certification.
- ACLS (AHA/ARC) certification.
- Other certifications and licenses may be required.
- Critical thinking and service excellence.
- Effective written and verbal communication in English.
- Proficiency in PC skills and ability to read and follow written instructions.
- Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment, push, pull, and bend (50‑100 lbs).
- Interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of personnel.
- Technical/motor skills to grasp, perform fine manipulation, and move about during procedures.
- Mental ability to cope with frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, and maintain concentration on detail.
- Sensory ability to possess visual acuity and communicate effectively.
