Overview

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room, Travel assignment in Newport, Vermont. Start date 08/31/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range $2,420–$2,615 per week. Guaranteed hours 36 per week (72 hours biweekly). Shift is mid-shift with potential 11:00–23:00 or 13:00–01:00, with rotating shifts and every-other weekend. Setting: hospital-based ER in a 25-bed Critical Access facility located in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in the emergency department, including initial assessment, triage, stabilization, and ongoing monitoring
  • Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist with procedures as needed
  • Communicate and collaborate with physicians, physicians assistants, and the broader care team to implement effective care plans
  • Document patient encounters accurately in the electronic medical record and maintain clear, timely communication with families when appropriate
  • Monitor for clinical changes, respond to emergencies, and uphold patient safety, infection control, and quality standards
  • Attend department quarterly education sessions as required for agency professionals
Requirements
  • Emergency department nursing experience: 3–5 years
  • Ability to work rotating mid-shift hours and every‑other-weekend schedule
  • Willingness to participate in a Vermont travel assignment
  • Ability to work effectively in a hospital ER setting
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to attending quarterly department education sessions
