Job Overview
Harbron Recruit Ltd is hiring Carpenters / Joiners for 1st / 2nd Fix at Channings Wood Prison, Devon. Pay: £24.00 per hour. Role requires working within a secure environment on a secure prison project. Two positions available with immediate start following clearance.
ResponsibilitiesWork on time‑served carpentry and joinery tasks for the prison project, including fire door installation and maintenance.
Requirements- Experienced Time‑Served Carpenter / Joiner
- Fire door installation and maintenance experience preferred
- Valid DBS certificate (essential)
- Ability to obtain BPSS clearance
- Own transport preferred
- Full carpentry tool kit
- Chop saw
- M‑Class dust extraction unit
- Air‑fed mask (secondary RPE)
Applicants must complete BPSS clearance before work can begin. A valid DBS certificate is required prior to BPSS processing. Previous BPSS clearances are not accepted. Clearance is typically completed within 2–3 working days.
PPE Requirements- Safety boots with midsole protection
- Yellow high‑visibility trousers (orange trousers not permitted)
- Hard hat with a 4‑point chin strap
- Other site PPE as required
- Competitive hourly rate
- Secure, long‑term project
- Immediate start after clearance
- Weekly pay
