Temporary Part-Time Precinct Election Official

The Auditor's Office is accepting applications to fill a temporary part-time position of Precinct Election Official. This position will be responsible for helping with elections, functions regarding ballots, mailings and voter assistance.

This is a temporary, part-time position. Rate of pay will be $15.50 per hour with no scheduled increases or County paid benefits. The position is anticipated to start on or before October 12, 2026 and end on November 6, 2026.

Ideal candidates should be highly organized, detail-oriented individuals who will perform responsible clerical and technical duties in the performance of conducting elections and assists the public with the absentee voting process. Balances ballots, processes the mailing and receipt of absentee ballots, prepares ballots and envelopes needed for care facilities absentee teams, processes absentee voters at counter, makes phone calls or prepares and mails necessary correspondence to voters.
Desired knowledge and skills:

Detail orientated, ballots and record keeping; thorough knowledge of standard office procedures, practices and equipment; proficiency in utilizing computer word processing, spreadsheet and software applications; ability to follow oral and written directions; ability to work under pressure, ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, organize work flow, meet deadlines; ability to consistently demonstrate professionalism, courtesy and tact in personal interactions and function effectively in stressful situations;

ability to deal with challenging situations, handle complaints and display good listening skills; ability to establish and maintain satisfactory working relationships with other county employees, election workers, public officials and the general public; ability to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information and data.
