Requirements for this position include a 2-year diploma/degree in computer aided drafting or a combination of education and experience of 2 years. The candidate should have a working knowledge and skill in AutoCAD and Solid Works drafting systems and design.
General responsibilities will include:
- Provide engineering and design support to customers, customer service, outside sales staff, quotation dept. and manufacturing dep. utilizing Solid Works, AutoCAD and other design related software.
- Answer technical questions pertaining to standard tool selection, custom tool design, tool performance, speeds and feeds, etc.
- Provide customer support on problem tools and applications by email, phone calls and conference calls.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Designing cutting tools from conceptual quotation
- Reverse engineer cutting tools from customers' existing tools, prints, and photos
- Utilize vendor websites and catalogs for insert and component selection
- Assign tool numbers to drawings
- Revise and update legacy drawings in AutoCAD and Solid Works as needed
- Develop conceptual tool drawings as required for outside sales and quotation dept.
- Design mylar graphs for Wasino optical form grinders
- Log engineering order details in nav, dates for engineering, sent for approval, approval received for engineering timeline
- Print and fold drawings for shop office
- Develop fixture designs for manufacturing floor
- Provide quality standards for custom tool manufacturing
- Confer with manufacturing programmers and operators relating to drawing and manufacturing questions.
- Additional assigned duties as required
Position:
Full-time
Work Hours:
7AM-4PM, Monday-Friday
Hourly Pay: $ (depending upon experience)
