Applications are being accepted for Full-Time Female Detention Officer position with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office. We provide training and a professional work environment with competitive wages. New starting rate of pay is $23.79 per hour (increase to $30.20 in 4 years) to include County paid benefits package and IPERS Retirement. This is a 24/7 operation; work hours and scheduled shifts may vary based on facility needs.
* Experienced Dentation Officer may start at a higher rate of pay based on experience.

Under general supervision, selected candidates will perform responsible law enforcement work in ensuring the protection, welfare, security, custodial control of inmates in the Jasper County Jail. Must adhere to the Code of Iowa, United States Constitution, and the Iowa Jail Standards in reference to legal rights and respond to emergency situations to include administering medical and life-saving aid to victims or injury or illness.
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Iowa driver’s license with a good driving record. Prior jail/corrections experience and First Aid/CPR training a plus but not required.
