Overview
GAF is seeking a Process Engineer to lead quality and process improvement projects at our new shingle manufacturing facility in Newton, Kansas. The role involves executing projects using PI tools and supporting the founding team with a $10,000 sign‑on bonus.
Responsibilities- Lead process design reviews, raw material qualification and product/process qualification and capability studies.
- Perform PPA/FMEA on major process and raw material changes.
- Train production personnel on Statistical Process Control (SPC) and plant and corporate quality policies and procedures.
- Conduct internal compliance audits of production tests, process specifications, plant change notices (PCNs) and other in‑plant processes.
- Coordinate plant trials with R&D and plant personnel, ensuring accurate conduct and reporting.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- 5+ years process engineering experience.
- Ability to lead a team and work under pressure.
- Knowledge of engineering fundamentals and proficiency in Microsoft Office, PLC, and AutoCAD.
- Coatings application process (entry knowledge); project management, planning, and scheduling (entry to intermediate knowledge); material handling (entry to intermediate knowledge); engineering/equipment design (entry to intermediate knowledge); regulations of safe handling and registration of materials (entry knowledge).
The position requires stationary work, frequent movement, and occasional lifting and transporting. Employees must be able to perform repetitive motions and communicate effectively.
CompensationBase Salary Range: $88,006‑$121,009 (exclusive of fringe benefits).
