While you will work closely with our support supervisor to guide the team, you will also act as a crucial coach and mentor to our technical staff. Additionally, you will serve as the designated department representative and primary decision-maker during the absence of the Information Services Officer.

Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership & Team Mentorship Drive Service Delivery:
Coordinate day-to-day department activities, oversee support workflows, monitor helpdesk queues, and ensure the team consistently meets or exceeds service standards.
Team Mentorship:
Partner with the support supervisor to coach and mentor technical staff, fostering a collaborative, continuous-learning environment focused on top-tier customer service.
Escalation Authority:
Act as the primary tier-three escalation authority for complex technical issues and critical IT incidents.
Strategic Continuity:
Step in as the Acting Department Leader in the absence of the Information Services Officer, ensuring seamless daily operations and alignment with organizational priorities.
Systems Support & Cybersecurity Engineering Maintain Enterprise Systems:
Support and optimize our core IT environment, including Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft cloud technologies, network infrastructure, endpoint devices, and security frameworks.
Cybersecurity & Compliance:
Play an active role in security monitoring, routine vulnerability patching, risk mitigation, and incident response efforts.
Resiliency Planning:
Assist with strategic planning, routine testing, and documentation for disaster recovery, backups, and business continuity.
Note:
Participate in the departmental on-call rotation to provide essential after-hours support as required.
Vendor Coordination & Asset Management Vendor Management:
Coordinate vendor engagements, maintenance schedules, hardware orders, and technology service contracts.
Fiscal & Asset Support:
Assist departmental leadership with asset lifecycle management, inventory tracking, and identifying future technology and equipment needs.
Core Authority & Decision-Making As the Information Services Manager, you are entrusted with significant operational authority under the general guidance of the IS Officer. You will be expected to:
Dynamically adjust project and ticket priorities based on critical business needs and regulatory impacts.
Proactively identify and resolve systemic operational bottlenecks, resource constraints, and emerging technical risks.
Make immediate, day-to-day decisions necessary to maintain the integrity and availability of organizational data and tech services.
Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Minimum ten (10) years of progressively responsible Information Technology experience.
Minimum three (3) years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, systems administration, networking, cybersecurity, or technical operations.
Demonstrated experience coordinating technical work efforts, projects, or service delivery activities.
Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and serve as acting department leader during the absence of executive or departmental leadership.
Experience supporting Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft cloud technologies.
Experience supporting enterprise networking environments, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and firewall technologies.
Experience supporting Windows desktop operating systems and endpoint management solutions.
Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles, security controls, and incident response practices.
Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze technical issues, establish priorities, and coordinate multiple competing work assignments.
Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to Information Services staff.
Ability to participate in an on-call support rotation and respond to critical incidents outside normal business hours.
Ability to provide three (3) professional work references.
- Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, Business Administration, or a related field.
