General SummaryThe Tube Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC tube laser equipment to cut tubing, pipe, and structural materials according to engineering drawings and production schedules. This position ensures quality parts are produced safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Functions- Set up and operate CNC tube laser equipment to produce quality parts according to work orders and engineering drawings.
- Load and unload raw materials using forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment.
- Verify material type, size, and quantity before processing.
- Perform machine setup, including changing tooling, nozzles, and consumables as required.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure they meet specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production documentation.
- Deburr, clean, and organize completed parts as required.
- Complete production documentation accurately, including labor reporting and quality records.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and daily machine cleaning.
- Report machine malfunctions, tooling issues, or quality concerns promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following 5S principles.
- Follow all company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work closely with supervisors, programmers, maintenance personnel, and other team members to meet production goals.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
