Registered Nurse (RN) Perioperative Services (Full Time)
Location: Medical Center - 600 Medical Center Drive, Newton, KS, 67114
Category: OPERATING ROOM

As a Registered Nurse at NMC Health, youll play a key role in assessing, planning, and delivering direct nursing care to both inpatients and outpatients. You'll collaborate with a supportive interdisciplinary team to provide safe, high-quality care and ensure patients and families are treated with dignity, compassion, and professionalism.

Hours:

0800 - 1830 with an on-call requirement

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver age-appropriate, culturally sensitive, and holistic care to assigned patients.

Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans.

Administer medications, including IVs, following all safety protocols.

Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records and documentation.

Educate and support patients and families throughout the care process.

Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare team members.

Demonstrate accountability for delegated tasks and safe patient outcomes.

Participate in department meetings, quality improvement activities, and continuing education.

Float to other units and cover additional shifts as needed to support safe staffing levels.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma required.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

International RN education must meet credential evaluation standards if applicable.

Licensure & Certification:

Current RN license in the State of Kansas (or compact license).

Current BLS/CPR certification required.

ACLS certification recommended depending on unit assignment.

Additional unit-specific certifications may be required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Proficient in patient care across the lifespan.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a caring and empathetic approach.

Ability to work independently and take initiative on behalf of patients.

Strong time management and organizational skills.

Basic computer proficiency required.

Commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.
