We are currently seeking a
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Full-time to join our
Senior Behavioral Health Center (SBHC) in Newton, KS.The certified Nurse Assistant works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN)/Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide quality care that is focused on the comfort and well-being of the patient and the family.

Other functions/competencies of the position may include unit clerk, monitor technician, general clerical activities, activities of daily living and basic nurse procedures.

Performs duties and presents in a manner that would lead to high levels of patient satisfaction.

Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary team.

This position reports to the Unit Leader.

This position is hourly (non-exempt).

2 F/T positions (1 Days & 1 Nights)

Qualifications: (as required for success in the role)

Education:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Successful completion of a nurse assistant certification preferred.
  • If high school diploma or equivalent is still in progress, successful completion of nurse assistant certification or equivalent experience is required.

Experience:

  • Preferred inpatient therapy or geriatric experience

Knowledge and

Skills:

  • Participates in routine activities of patient care for the specific unit/department population;
  • Performs delegated care tasks in timely, efficient manner, and under the guidance of the RN/LPN.
  • Contributes to continuity of care and effective communication by reporting care provided and changes in the patient’s condition to the primary nurse or designee in a timely fashion;

Licensure/registration/certification: RMA/CMA certification

  • Certification as a nurse aide by the state of Kansas is preferred;
  • Certification in CPR/Basic Life Support required.
