The purpose of this position is to open and close store. Manage and operate a Goodwill Retail store while fulfilling Goodwill's mission statement.

Qualifications/

Education:

High school education or the equivalent required. Must have full knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting to maintain sales records and reports incidental to store operations. Must be a person with excellent character references and a well-developed sense of responsibility. Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable.

Organizational responsibilities include working with individuals who have disabilities and or barriers to employment and participating in the achievement of their goals. Demonstrate a positive, role model. Display commitment and involvement towards Goodwill's mission.

Job proficiencies include math skills, computer skills, oral communications, written communications, internal-personal communications judgment and problem solving, cash handling, job knowledge, planning and organization, leadership, teamwork, customer service orientation, interviewing skills, quality, product knowledge, ethics and trust, safety and security.

Job competencies include handling customer complaints, overseeing store operation including inventory, warehouse and stock rotation in the absence of all other management team, performing the basic store reports, providing supervision for all sales associates and following cash handling procedures on a daily basis.

Essential functions include supervising the sales force and sales floor, selling merchandise as time permits, attending to and satisfying customer's needs, handling customer complaints in a fair and impartial manner, promoting special events, receiving and checking incoming stock and supervising checkouts and stock transfers, checking condition and placement of stock in a clean, neat, and orderly condition, suggesting and maintaining displays and advertising ideas and preparing and placing signs in sales areas and windows, being solely responsible for wares dept.

being clean, stocked and rotated on a daily basis, making sure merchandise is being marked to Goodwill standards from the processing warehouse area, supervising store personnel and maintaining projected sales goals, representing Goodwill in the area served, striving to enhance the Goodwill image through individual and group participation, maintaining records of store operations as required, reviewing and analyzing sales to determine effectiveness of methods used and adequacy of prices, making recommendations to Area Manager and Vice President of Operations/Sales, helping keep the store clean and attractive, performing all administrative and record keeping duties as required in store manager's and/or assistant manager's absence, sorting clothing and textile items, hanging clothing items, visually inspecting clothing racks on sales floor, cleaning wares shelves, reaching into carts or boxes, answering telephone, assisting individuals making donations of a variety of miscellaneous items.

Duties and responsibilities include assuring that the appearance of the store and premises is presentable at all times, performing administrative and clerical details of store operation, responsible for safety and well-being for all employees, safeguarding the premises and material under his or her care at all times, greeting customers, adhering to all ethical standards confidentiality of records, adhering to all safety policies and reporting violations, attending required meetings as required, supporting mission statement and activities of other departments, supporting the accessibility of our services and facilities free of architectural, attitudinal, environmental, financial, communication, transportation, employment and other barriers to person with disabilities and barriers to employment, being able to work Saturdays and Sundays and at least two nights a week, being able to count all monies for store operations, being able to lift up to 50 lbs, being able to make bank deposits with own transportation daily, driving to the bank to ensure secure delivery of bank deposits, other duties as assigned.

Standards for measuring performance/quality standards include attendance and punctuality, the cleanliness, neatness, and orderliness of his/her store premises, quality and quantity of work performed, attitude and overall effectiveness of working relations…
