Job Summary
As an industrial maintenance technician, you will repair and maintain commercial and industrial machinery to ensure the machines’ proper functionality. The Industrial Maintenance Technician will be hands-on, with practical experience in welding, hydraulics, electricity, mechanical fundamentals, and machine alignment. Preferred skills in electronics, computerized equipment maintenance and preventative/predictive maintenance. Knowledge of basic rigging, forklift and crane operation and use.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBLITIES- Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs during workday on all shop equipment.
- Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust.
- Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair.
- Must have experience working on engines that run on propane, gas, or diesel.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on all shop equipment.
- Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintain all service records.
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
- Maintains inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
- Trains production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Keeps work area clean, neat, and orderly to ensure a safe and efficient workplace.
- Must always wear appropriate PPE.
- Safely operates a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, lift truck, forklifts, cranes, and other equipment as needed.
- Must be able to operate safety equipment and uses safe work habits while preforming the job function.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and crawl for long periods of time. Continual use of your hands, considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 lbs. without physical restrictions.
- Must always wear appropriate PPE such as safety glasses, welding helmets, hearing protection, gloves, and safety toe boots.
- Able to work in hot and cold environments during summer and winter months.
- Ability to operate machinery and technical equipment.
- In-depth knowledge of system maintenance
- Skilled in analyzing information and creating reports.
- Must have basic computer knowledge and math skills and be able to write routine paperwork.
- Must have 5+ years working with many types of shop equipment including Press, Shear, Laser, Plasma Table, Plate Rolls, etc., providing documentation and maintenance.
- Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills with some experience working with propane engines, vehicles, cranes, and forklifts.
- Must be able to understand and communicate both verbally and in written form in English since instructions, labels and other documents are in English.
- High School/GED diploma preferred but not required.
- Formal Training such as Technical School, Machine Specific Training etc.
- Must be familiar with the repair and upkeep of typical shop equipment, forklifts, cranes.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Able to work overtime as needed.
