Senior Accountant - SEC Reporting

Description We are looking for a Senior Accountant with expertise in SEC reporting to join our team on a contract basis. This role is based in Newton, Massachusetts, and offers the opportunity to contribute to critical accounting functions while collaborating with a dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills and prior public company experience to ensure compliance and accuracy in reporting.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review SEC filings, including 10-Q and 10-K reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.

- Draft and analyze technical accounting memos and whitepapers to address complex financial reporting issues.

- Utilize Net Suite and Active Disclosure software to manage reporting processes effectively.

- Collaborate with internal teams to implement and streamline accounting procedures.

- Ensure adherence to GAAP standards in all financial reporting processes.

- Support audits by providing accurate documentation and responding to inquiries.

- Assist in identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies and issues.

- Partner with the Controller to enhance reporting practices and maintain timely submissions.

- Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial controls and processes.

- Stay updated on changes in SEC regulations and accounting standards to ensure compliance. Requirements - Experience working in Big 4 Public Accounting or equivalent firms.

- Proven track record in public company accounting and SEC reporting.

- Proficiency in drafting technical accounting memos and whitepapers.

- Familiarity with Net Suite and Active Disclosure software.

- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

- Effective communication skills to convey complex financial concepts clearly.
