Mechanical Estimator – Assistant Project Manager

Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed HVAC and plumbing estimates for residential and light commercial construction projects.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate takeoffs and pricing.
• Working with the sales team to develop proposals, scope clarifications, and bid submissions.
• Soliciting and evaluating subcontractor and vendor pricing to ensure competitive estimates.
• Assisting in value engineering and cost analysis to improve project profitability.
• Supporting Project Managers with project kickoff, scheduling, and coordination of mechanical scopes.
• Tracking submittals, equipment orders, and material deliveries to ensure timely project progression.
• Coordinating with field teams, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain scope alignment.
• Monitoring project budgets against estimates and identifying cost variances.
• Assisting with preparation and tracking of RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
• Participating in project meetings and maintaining clear documentation of action items.
• Supporting closeout processes including as-builts, O&M manuals, and final documentation.
• Performing additional duties as assigned to support the estimating and project management teams.

• 2–5 years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, estimating, or construction coordination.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and construction processes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
