Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Directly supervise and engage a group of students in activities daily, ensuring emotional and physical safety for all students in their care Collaborate with other teachers to plan a range of activities and programs for students
Participate in 2:15 meetings several times each week with the EDP Director and other teachers to plan, collaborate, and discuss topics around EDPPrepare for instruction daily, including setting up spaces, gathering materials, and communicating with the EDP Director and other teachers about students, lessons, and any other needs
Model appropriate, positive behavior for students and respond appropriately to challenging student behaviors based on school-wide expectations and management strategies
Perform other duties as required
Schedule
School Year Monday through Friday, 2:15 pm to 4:30 pm. Some teachers will start as early as 11:30 on Wednesdays. Some teachers will stay until 5:30 one or more days each week.
Compensation $25.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
Minimum Qualifications Successful criminal background check
Prior experience in a related position working with children
Preferred Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent
Current CPR/AED & first aid certification (certification will be provided if needed)
Enthusiasm for working with children in grades Pre-K through 4
Creativity to plan engaging activities
Flexibility to adapt plans and lessons to meet the time, material, and spatial constraints of EDPClassroom management skills
