Position Overview
Wellan Montessori School is seeking an experienced Mandarin Teacher to join its faculty for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a part-time position (4 hours per week) designed to pilot a new Mandarin program, with the opportunity for gradual growth over the next several years as the program develops and expands.
The Mandarin Teacher will be responsible for launching and teaching Mandarin to students in Grades 6–8 using both a textbook and a wide range of interactive, engaging activities that support increasing language proficiency and cultural appreciation.
Candidates should have experience teaching Mandarin in Grades 6–8 and bring strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills to the role. They should be flexible, collaborative, and able to create a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Mandarin language and culture and will inspire students to grow in confidence and curiosity as they develop their language skills.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or beyond in related field.
- Experience teaching children ages 11-14 (Grades 6–8).
- Heritage speaker a plus.
- Minimum of 3 professional references required.
