Schechter Boston is seeking talented, mission-driven Early Childhood Teachers to join the Gan—our Early Childhood program for the  school year. Teachers work collaboratively with colleagues to create nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environments.

Position Overview

The Early Childhood Teacher is responsible for creating a warm, inclusive classroom community that supports the social-emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young children. Teachers thoughtfully design learning experiences responsive to children’s developmental stages, interests, and identities, while building strong partnerships with families.

Implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for young children.

Develop activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of children.

Build strong, trusting relationships with children and families

Collaborate closely with co-teachers, specialists, and colleagues

Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives

Contribute positively to the collaborative culture of the Gan and the broader Schechter Boston community

Expertise in Early Childhood Education

Strong understanding of child development, learning differences, social-emotional development, and inclusive practices across early childhood.

Relational Practice

Ability to build warm, trusting, and respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

Instructional Insight

Skilled in observation, reflection, and adapting instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.

Comfort working as part of a teaching team and contributing to shared goals.

Exceptional Communication

Clear, compassionate, and professional communication with families and colleagues.

Commitment to Inclusion

Deep belief in honoring the dignity, strengths, and identities of every child and family.

Bachelor’s Degree required, background in education/early childhood education preferred.

EEC Infant-Toddler or Preschool Teacher Certification required.

A minimum of 1-3 years of experience teaching in an early childhood setting preferred.

Salary: Competitive pay range $42,000-$70,000; commensurate with experience, education and certification.

Hours:
Monday-Thursday 1:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (start time flexible)
