Who are we looking for?The Northeast Engineering Design Organization (EDO) is actively seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to work on the design of HVAC and plumbing systems across commercial and industrial facilities in the region. In this dynamic role, you’ll be involved in every stage of the design process, from initial concept to final project layout, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑performance solutions that meet our clients’ evolving needs.
You’ll play a key part in developing efficient, sustainable building mechanical systems that enhance comfort, safety, and energy performance.

Core Responsibilities- Solutions Analysis:
Analyze specific problems and issues to find the best solutions. - Personal Capability Building:
Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities and formal and informal training and coaching. - Operational Compliance:
Identify instances of non‑compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures and report them. - Product and Solution Development:
Define and deliver products and services that meet customer needs within established systems. - Design and Conceptualization:
Produce multiple concepts and prototypes to design digital products/services. - Operating Machine or Equipment:
Operate complex machines and systems, adjusting processes to optimize quality and productivity and generate solutions to complex inefficiencies.
- Associate’s degree in Design/Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related technical field; relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 3–5 years of HVAC and/or plumbing systems design experience for both the private and public sectors; previous consulting experience highly desired.
- Familiarity with HVAC load calculation software.
- Experience preparing building mechanical system drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Highly developed communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proven ability to devise approaches to problem resolution.
- Ability to be proactive and take ownership of the task involved.
$31.00 – $64.00 per hour based on experience and location.
