Opportunity OverviewEngineer Level 3 is an onsite position at WECTEC Staffing Services, a wholly‑owned subsidiary of Westinghouse Electric Company LLC. The role involves decision‑making, technical analysis, project coordination, and engineering oversight for utility‑scale solar, BESS, and power plant operations. Responsibilities include ensuring designs meet project specifications, safety standards, and long‑term performance and reliability goals. Project management, negotiations, performance tracking, and reporting are also part of the role.
The candidate must have a strong understanding of power systems and utility‑scale energy projects, and experience with PLC programming on Schneider Electric platforms.
- Plan, organize, and manage engineering projects with advanced knowledge application, balancing cost, reliability, and performance.
- Supervise a team of engineers and oversee design development, permitting, and compliance for energy infrastructure.
- Support detailed technical assessments, engineering design reviews, and compliance verifications for power delivery projects.
- Bridge the gap between conceptual engineering and field execution, ensuring best practices are applied throughout the project lifecycle.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field.
- 11+ years of experience in PLC programming, preferably Schneider Electric platforms.
- Expert knowledge of Modbus, DNP3, and industrial communication protocols.
- Experience with Ignition SCADA platform and HMI development.
- Strong understanding of power systems and utility‑scale energy projects.
- Proven experience in utility‑scale renewable energy or power generation projects.
- Knowledge of BESS control systems, inverters, and energy storage technologies.
- Familiarity with grid interconnection requirements and utility standards.
- Experience with FAT/SAT testing procedures and commissioning protocols.
- Full accountability for PPA, LGIA, and OEM testing completion.
- NERC CIP cybersecurity awareness preferred.

Base Salary Range: $72.00/hr – $77.00/hr (dependent on experience, qualifications, and skills)
