Fully Remote | Senior Leadership | Robotics & Autonomous Systems
A specialist safety engineering consultancy is seeking a Principal Robotics Safety Engineer to lead high-integrity robotics and automation safety programmes.
This is a senior, client-facing technical leadership role supporting the development and certification of advanced robotic and autonomous systems in line with international safety standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading end-to-end safety programmes for complex robotic systems
- Driving hazard analysis, risk assessment, and safety lifecycle delivery
- Developing safety requirements aligned to IEC 61508, ISO 13849, 13482, and other relevant standards
- Conducting FTA, FMEA, FMEDA, and related analyses
- Advising on functional safety architectures for collaborative and autonomous systems
- Mentoring engineers and acting as the senior technical authority
- Supporting client growth and industry engagement
What We’re Looking For
- 15+ years in safety engineering (8+ in robotics or industrial automation)
- Proven leadership delivering complex safety programmes
- Deep knowledge of robotics safety standards and SIL/PL determination
- Experience across hardware and software safety
- Functional Safety Expert (FSE) or equivalent (TÜV/Exida preferred)
