Job Description & How to Apply Below

Senior Robotics Engineer

As a Senior Robotics Engineer, you will contribute to the design, analysis, development, testing, and optimization of complex mechanical and electromechanical systems for the next‑generation robotic platform that will shape the future of healthcare. You will play a critical role in applying advanced modeling, simulation, and control methodologies throughout the product development lifecycle and test apparatus—from concept to launch. You will combine hands‑on engineering with high‑level analytical thinking, leading or supporting cross‑functional initiatives, and mentoring junior team members where applicable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply advanced analytical and simulation methodologies, including mathematical modeling, finite element analysis (FEA), and system‑level simulations, to the design, development, and optimization of mechanical and electromechanical systems.
  • Perform and interpret static, dynamic, kinematic, and vibration analyses to support subsystem and system‑level design decisions.
  • Collaborate with electrical, firmware, and systems engineers to define and implement sensor and actuator specifications, control systems, and electromechanical interfaces.
  • Design, model, and develop precision mechanical and mechatronic subsystems using CAD (e.g., Solid Works) and other relevant tools, ensuring Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA), reliability, and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Contribute to design characterization and verification activities, including protocol creation, execution, and statistical analysis of test data.
  • Support analytical and experimental work to increase the reliability and robustness of the system or subsystems.
  • Postprocess experimental results using engineering principles and statistical tools to validate models and improve system performance.
  • Adopt and improve Model‑Based Design best practices using tools like MATLAB, Simulink, and Sim Scape or other tools as needed; contribute to real‑time simulation and HIL testing frameworks.
  • Author clear and thorough documentation including design descriptions, analysis reports, test protocols, and test summaries.
  • Scout and evaluate new tools and technologies, integrate them into the development workflow, and share learnings with the broader team.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions, innovation workshops, and IP generation efforts.
Qualifications
  • PhD or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
  • Minimum of 8 years of hands‑on product development experience, in a regulated industry such as medical devices/robotics, automotive, aerospace.
  • Strong background in analytical and simulation tools:
    • MATLAB, Simulink, Sim Scape (Simulink Real‑Time and HIL experience preferred)
    • Solid Works CAD and 3D tolerance stack‑up tools (e.g., CETOL)
    • FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS or Solid Works Simulation)
  • Deep understanding of DAQ systems, motion control, sensor integration, and control theory.
  • Experience with system‑level integration and troubleshooting of electromechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with DOE and statistical analysis and tools is highly desired.
  • Prior experience with data mining.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and adapt in a fast‑paced R&D environment.
