Siemens Healthineers, through its Endovascular Robotics (EVR) division, is transforming the future of interventional medicine. We are seeking a Senior Mechatronics Integration Engineer to play a critical role in the development of the next-generation robotic platform used in FDA-cleared, robotic-assisted vascular interventions.
This is a hands-on, senior-level R&D position ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in complex, regulated environments and enjoys working across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines. You will directly contribute from prototype through verification builds, supporting innovative technologies that improve patient outcomes worldwide.
What You'll Be Doing- Maintain, upgrade, and support a fleet of robotic systems under formal design control processes
- Lead system-level troubleshooting for complex electromechanical assemblies in collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Perform configuration management to ensure full system traceability for R&D and clinical activities
- Develop and execute test methods, protocols, and reports, releasing documentation through ECO processes
- Support system builds, component inventory management, and procurement activities
- Author and improve engineering and process documentation
- Drive process, reliability, and system performance improvements
- Lead or support detailed planning efforts including BOMs, procurement, and future builds
- Contribute to design transfer and new product introduction (NPI) activities
- 10+ years of experience in complex electromechanical system R&D environments
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (Associate's degree accepted with exceptional experience)
- Required experience in regulated industries (medical devices, aerospace, or similar)
- Proven hands-on experience assembling and testing electromechanical systems
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, or LabVIEW
- Strong ability to break down complex problems and deliver effective solutions
- Experience with cross-functional leadership and technical collaboration
- Solid project management skills, including task estimation and work breakdown structures
- Experience developing production-level documentation (BOMs, assembly drawings, maintenance instructions)
- Familiarity with PLM systems, ECOs, DFM/A, Six Sigma, and statistical tolerance analysis
- CAD proficiency preferred (Solid Works a plus)
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
