OverviewThe Automation Controls Engineer will design, program, install, modify, and repair all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop electrical and controls system design solutions based on engineering principles.
- Generate electrical schematics and documentation necessary to install and troubleshoot control system and interface it to other system components.
- Perform PLC/HMI/Automation Controller programming with emphasis on program reliability, safety and ease of updated troubleshooting documentation.
- Define scope documents for new and existing equipment from external providers. Establish product acceptance criteria.
- Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including electrical requirements.
- Work with SCADA and MES vendors and internal IT team to develop and maintain robust data acquisition and management solutions to support plant operations.
- Work with equipment engineers, process engineers, plant maintenance and operations teams to drive improvements in machine reliability, product quality and process yield.
- B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or demonstrated required capability as an Automation Technician for 5 years.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Inductive Automation / Ignition programming.
- Experience in PLC programming.
- Knowledge of statistical process control, asset utilization/OEE.
