Senior Staff Accountant

Description

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Temporary to Permanent Staff Accountant with strong month-end close and reporting experience to support our growing finance team. This role will play a key part in departmental reporting, balance sheet and P& L analysis, and ensuring accurate financial statements. The position is hybrid in Newton.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Lead and support month-end close activities, including accruals and journal entries

+ Prepare departmental financial reports with variance analysis

+ Perform balance sheet and P& L analysis and investigate discrepancies

+ Complete balance sheet reconciliations (cash, prepaid, accruals, fixed assets, etc.)

+ Maintain the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP

+ Assist with audit support and documentation requests

+ Partner cross-functionally to improve reporting accuracy and streamline processes

+ Support ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed

+ Hybrid - Newton, MA (2-3 days onsite per week)

Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

+ 2-4+ years of relevant accounting experience

+ Net Suite experience required

+ Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes

+ Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups)

+ Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

+ Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities
