What You’ll Own- Drive the tax compliance process for investment entities, partnering with external advisors and fund accounting teams from preparation through completion.
- Review tax returns, work papers, allocations, estimates, and investor reporting for accuracy and consistency.
- Analyze federal and state tax requirements, withholding, estimated payments, and year-end reporting.
- Help navigate tax questions arising from new investments, transactions, and organizational structures.
- Work directly with advisors and internal teams to research and resolve complex tax issues.
- Support investor-facing tax requests and provide clear explanations of tax information to non-tax professionals.
- Coordinate responses to tax notices, audits, and other government inquiries.
- Build and maintain tax tracking tools, databases, reporting, and documentation.
- Look for opportunities to improve processes and leverage technology and AI to make the tax function more efficient.
- Take the lead on special projects and initiatives as they arise.
- 3+ years of tax experience
, ideally from a Big 4 or leading public accounting firm; investment management, private equity, credit, or alternative investment experience is a plus. - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
. - CPA or JD/LLM preferred.
- Strong understanding of tax compliance and the ability to apply tax concepts to complex situations.
- Excellent Excel skills and strong proficiency with PowerPoint and Word.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and owning projects independently.
- Strong communicator who can translate technical tax concepts for non-tax professionals.
- Curious, proactive, and interested in finding better ways to solve problems.
