Chief Analyst

Overview

Omdia (part of Informa Tech Target) is seeking an experienced Chief Analyst with deep expertise in data center technologies, infrastructure, and market dynamics to deliver actionable insights to our global client base. The successful candidate will lead comprehensive research coverage of the global data center market, including infrastructure, hardware, software, and emerging technologies.

The role involves presenting research at industry conferences, client briefings, webinars, and providing expert commentary to media and industry publications. Strategic consulting and advisory services for clients are another key part of the role, providing insight on data center investment decisions, technology roadmaps, and market opportunities. This position requires an enthusiastic, self-motivated, collaborative person who can express considered and bold views through thought-provoking research and analysis to a mixed audience of technical end users and senior industry executives.

Ability to quickly develop strong relationships and work as part of a global team is essential.

• Deliver insightful research – Contribute to and create high quality research in the form of reports, trackers, forecasts, and presentations. Develop and test hypotheses that challenge existing beliefs within a market to provide unique insight. Produce analysis that goes beyond the descriptive to give Omdia the edge over its competition.
• Market high-level industry expertise – Define and expand an area of research. Market that expertise at a senior level within our clients and prospects. Provide timely responses to market events and up-to-date opinions based on broad-based experience.
• Build and maintain client relationships – Maintain and extend your network of client relationships. Become a trusted advisor to these clients.
• Ensure effective client management – Build and manage ongoing relationships with clients. Represent Omdia and Informa Tech Target, demonstrating expertise in Data Centers and the broader technology ecosystem. Support sales, marketing, product management, and PR teams. Participate in client-facing meetings with the sales team and add credibility to relationships.
• Expand strategic planning involvement – Offer insights to planning meetings. Work with the Practice Leader and Research Directors to drive direction and strategy. Develop a customer-based point of view for new products and advisory services based on client needs.

• Over 10 years of professional experience
  . Experience in the data center ecosystem, either as an industry analyst or in the wider ecosystem.
• Solid technical understanding and insight into the data center ecosystem, with the ability to form credible and original opinions on how aspects will evolve and why.
• Quantitative research – Ability to build, maintain, and enhance market forecasts and trackers, and present complex concepts from data effectively.
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex ideas.
• Strong verbal communication and presentation skills to engage with and influence executives at the highest levels.
• Ability to build and enhance a professional network with industry contacts and opinion formers.
• Ability to identify and communicate critical issues impacting commercial performance of data center ecosystems for vendor clients.
• Experience working with sales and marketing teams to identify and capitalize on business development opportunities.
• Proven track record of managing workloads to meet deadlines and exceeding client expectations.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

• Salary range: $170k - $190k based on experience.
