Summary and Purpose
The Bespoke Joiner is responsible for manufacturing, assembling, and preparing bespoke kitchen components to exact customer specifications. This role involves producing a wide variety of bespoke items, ranging from simple components to complex, multi-part assemblies, ensuring every piece is complete, accurate, and produced to the highest quality standards.
All joinery tasks must be completed in line with the customer order, working accurately from drawings and specifications where applicable, to ensure each bespoke item fully meets the customer’s requirements. The role plays a critical part in supporting downstream processes such as painting, assembly, and installation, ensuring components are prepared in a way that enables efficient finishing, ease of assembly, and an exceptional final result for the customer.

- Understand and follow Health & Safety, Quality standards, and manufacturing processes
- Become familiar with the site, colleagues, and leadership teams
- Gain a strong understanding of Life Kitchens products, bespoke requirements, and customer expectations
Main Responsibilities:
The Bespoke Joiner will work as part of the bespoke manufacturing team, producing high-quality joinery components in line with production schedules and customer orders.
The role requires working within tight quality tolerances and taking full ownership of workmanship, ensuring every component supports efficient painting, assembly, and installation.
As a Bespoke Joiner, you will be required to:
- Manufacture and assemble bespoke kitchen units, cabinetry, and custom components
- Carry out high-quality bench joinery work including fitting, sanding, and finishing
- Read, understand, and work accurately from technical drawings and specifications
- Operate CNC machinery to produce components to precise requirements (where applicable)
- Check each order to ensure all components are present, complete, and to specification
- Prepare components to a standard suitable for the painting and finishing process
- Identify and carry out any required preparatory or remedial work in line with the production schedule
- Work collaboratively with design, production, finishing, and assembly teams
- Maintain consistently high standards of craftsmanship, quality, and attention to detail
- Complete required paperwork and quality checks as part of the production process
- Support training and skill development to enable a flexible, multi-skilled workforce
- Take ownership of safety, quality, and performance within the bespoke area, reporting to the relevant team leader
General Tasks:
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area
- Carry out general housekeeping, cleaning, and waste disposal
- Assist with other joinery or manufacturing tasks as required
- Prioritise work based on production schedules and urgent customer requirements
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and workflow
Health & Safety:
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain equipment to guarantee a safe working environment.
- Use tools, machinery, and equipment safely and correctly
- Report any health and safety concerns or incidents immediately.
