Job SummaryRegistered Nurse – 24‑hour shift with special weekend nights (7:15 p.m. – 7:15 a.m. every Friday and Saturday).
Specialty Areas & Key Requirements- Adult GI – 2 years Critical Care/GI experience (unless noted). ACLS required within first year; CCGRN preferred.
- Assisted Reproductive Technologies Clinic (ARTC) – Dual practice supporting BWH and MGH fertility clinics. BSN required; ASRM RN certificate within first year; 1 year in reproductive endocrinology required.
- Cancer Center – 1 year chemotherapy administration experience; knowledge of hematology/oncology; 3 years ambulatory oncology nursing strongly preferred; OCN or OCN certificate required; chemotherapy/bio‑therapy certification required; ONSc preferred.
- Cardiovascular Center – 2 years Critical Care experience;
Cardiac ICU/CCU/Cath‑Lab preferred; interventional radiology/electrophysiology experience; BLS/ACLS required. - Device Clinic – 2 years device‑clinic experience with pacemaker programming and follow‑up; BCLS/ACLS required; HRS/NASP preferred.
- Emergency Department (ED) – 2 years ED experience; ACLS, PALS, CPI required within first year; CEN or CCRN preferred.
- Intensive Care Unit (ICU) – 2 years Critical Care experience; ACLS required within first year.
- Labor & Delivery / AETU – 2 years L&D experience; fetal monitoring experience preferred; NRP required within first year.
- Maternal Fetal Medicine – 2 years perinatal experience; BSN; BLS prior to hire; ACLS preferred.
- Medical / Surgical (Med/Surg) – 1 year Med/Surg experience; telemetry training within first year.
- Mother / Baby – 2 years mother/baby experience; NRP required within first year.
- Operating Room (OR) – 2 years OR experience; peri‑operative nursing program completion preferred; AORN certification preferred.
- Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) / Henderson – 2 years PACU experience; ACLS and PALS required within first year; CPAN/CAPA preferred.
- Pediatrics – 2 years pediatrics experience; NRP required within first year.
- Pediatrics GI (Pedi GI) – 2 years Pedi GI experience; PALS required within first year.
- Psychiatry – 2 years psychiatry experience; CPI required within first month.
- SCN (Special Care Nursery) – 2 years SCN experience; NRP required within first year.
- STAT RN – 2 years Critical Care/Emergency experience; ACLS, PALS, CPI required within first year.
- Primary Care Triage RN – 2 years triage, ER, urgent care, or outpatient experience; ANCC RN‑BC preferred.
- Adhere to hospital standards, use communication skills, and build a cooperative work environment.
- Follow departmental policies and procedures while contributing to quality of services.
- Maintain knowledge of changes in nursing practice and evidence‑based care.
- Use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care individualized to each patient.
- Coordinate care teams, facilitate discharge planning, and communicate effectively with physicians and other professionals.
- Implement infection control, OSHA, hazardous material guidelines, and universal precautions.
- Utilize proper equipment, perform pharmacologic interventions, and use the “5 rights” for medication admin.
- Document care accurately and timely; use patient identifiers and support privacy.
- Advocate for patients, assist in education, and evaluate educational outcomes.
- Demonstrate sound judgment, problem‑solving, and decision‑making across all nursing duties.
- Support and promote management decisions, quality improvement initiatives, and cost containment.
- Enroll, interrogate, and program outpatient pacemaker patients.
- Recognize abnormalities or end‑of‑service indicators and notify cardiologists.
- Coordinate and prioritize patient care with the healthcare team.
