Job SummaryThis is an 8 hour position requiring a paired weekend Saturday and Sunday every other weekend. In a normal week, the RN would work Saturday and Sunday and then have 12 days off. The position is every other weekend, every other holiday. For holidays that do not fall on the weekend, the RN would be assigned the holiday where it fell in the week and be off the 8 hour weekend shift that fell in that week.
Responsibilities- The registered nurse renders highly professional and technical nursing care to assigned patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
- Oversees other assigned team members and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide population specific care in accordance with regulations and professional standards of care.
- Demonstrates extensive clinical expertise within the specified specialty area and adheres to departmental policies and procedures.
- Coordinates and collaborates with appropriate resources and multidisciplinary team members to facilitate a comprehensive discharge plan.
- Maintains patient safety and quality of care through documentation, communication, and adherence to standards of practice.
Specialty Area Additional Requirements include Adult GI, ARTC, Cancer Center, Cardiovascular Center, Device Clinic, ED, ICU, L&D/AETU, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Med/Surg, Mother/Baby, OR, PACU/Henderson, Pediatrics, Pedi GI, Psychiatry, SCN, STAT RN, Primary Care Triage RN.
- Adult GI: 2 years Critical Care/GI experience; ACLS within first year; CCGRN certification preferred.
- ARTC: BSN required; ASRM RN certificate course within 1 year; minimum 1 year in reproductive endocrinology.
- Cancer Center:
Chemo administration experience; OCN or equivalent within first year; 3 years ambulatory oncology preferred. - Cardiovascular Center: 2 years Critical Care; BLS/ACLS; cath lab/interventional experience preferred.
- Device Clinic: 2 years device clinic experience with pacemaker programming; BCLS and ACLS required; HRS/NASP preferred.
- ED: 2 years ED experience; ACLS, PALS, CPI within first year; CEN or CCRN preferred.
- ICU: 2 years Critical Care; ACLS within first year.
- Labor & Delivery/AETU: 2 years L&D experience; fetal monitoring; NRP within first year.
- Maternal Fetal Medicine: 2 years perinatal experience; BSN; BLS; ACLS preferred.
- Med/Surg: 1 year Med/Surg; telemetry experience preferred.
- Mother/Baby: 2 years mother/baby experience; fetal monitoring; NRP within first year.
- OR:
Peri-operative nursing program; 2 years OR experience; AORN certification preferred. - PACU/Henderson: 2 years critical care/PACU; ACLS and PALS within first year; CPAN/CAPA preferred.
- Pediatrics: 2 years pediatrics; NRP within first year if cross-trained for mother/baby.
- Pedi GI: 2 years pedi GI; PALS within first year.
- Psychiatry: 2 years psychiatry; CPI within first month.
- SCN: 2 years SCN; NRP within first year.
- STAT RN: 2 years CCU/EM nursing; ACLS, PALS, CPI within first year.
- Primary Care Triage RN: 2 years triage/ER/urgent care; ANCC RN-BC preferred.

- Assists in education, discharge planning, and performance improvement activities.
- Demonstrates leadership responsibilities when required and supports continued professional development.
Education:
Nursing required;
Bachelor's Degree preferred. Licenses and Credentials:
Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
Experience:
Demonstrated clinical competence in the specified specialty area as per job posting. Knowledge and abilities include nursing process, safety, documentation, medication administration, patient education, and collaborative practice. Physical environment may include exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials; general nursing duties apply.
